The Joys of Refactoring
A coworker of mine recently got me reading a book that has been around for a long time: Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code by Martin Fowler. Most of the programming books I had engaged in up to this point were about learning how to code and the nuances of a language — this was one was about the art and crafting of being a software engineer. Right from the beginning, I knew I had my work cut out for me.
